One of my closest redneck friends always used to say that FORD stood for “Fucked-Up-Rebuilt-Dodge”.

Well, here’s a FORD Caravan.

Allow us to officially introduce the Car Camel. Apparently plying the highways of Ontario, Canada, it’s a shortened minivan with a car hauler stuck to its backside. It ain’t pretty, and it probably ain’t too fast, but we have to admit that it is pretty neat… if you’re into that kind of thing. Life in our corporate cubicle world could stand a little speeding up and with these RaceCar chairs, it may very well be. The idea is to take a standard office chair and make it more stylish and comfortable by placing actual sports car seats on top, replacing the dull and uncomfortable swivel chairs in your average cubicle. But they’re not cheap.

Costing anywhere from $2,000 to over $10,000 (good luck expensing that), Race Chairs have quite a lineage with such notable sports car parentage as the Ferrari 360 (which costs about $3,000) to the Lamborghini LP640 Murcielago, which will set you back a good “Ten large.”

To further outfit your office with a racing theme, Race Chairs also offers a Carbon Fiber desk for a cool $8,000, a glass case/table with motor cycle encased for another $2500, and a Ferrari shifter paperweight for a mere $335, and carbon fiber mouse pads for around $80. Custom works include wine racks and coffee tables made from a engine blocks, and numerous framed steering wheel displays that will adorn your wall for about $400.

Other race chairs take seats from Maserati, Porches, Lamborghini, and, of course, Ferrari. But I’m noticing a remarkable lack of American sports car love here. What, no Mustang Shelby Cobra? No Corvette? Who wouldn’t want a race chair outfitted from one of those?

According to Edmunds, Ford Escape Hybrid is one of the most fuel efficient SUV of 2008.  I was kinda surprised that Ford came on as one of the top SUVs for this as my friends used to always joke FORD stood for, “Fucked Over Rebuilt Dodge”.  (There some more funny ones on the urban dictionary)

Well, I am thinking about replacing my 16MPG 2002 Trailblazer in the near future for the most fuel efficient SUV and maybe this could be it.  (but I don’t like FORD!)

I guess I might have to go for a Mazda Tribute Hybrid…

Shelby Supercar is currently working on the Ultimate Aero electric car that is capable of hitting 220 mph, but there will only be 50 of such units be available. There is not much details released so far, but the prototype ought to be ready by next February with four production models being available by December. This will put the Tesla roadster to shame, as it has been dubbed the “pollution-free, engineering marvel with an exotic supercar exterior.” The Ultimate Aero will hold at least 500 horses underneath the hood, and I must say, it looks jolly good to be a chick magnet in any part of the world.

It's still in the design phase, but we do know that SSC has at least one 500-HP electric motor designed, and they're considering sticking two of them in one car to create an insane, 1,000-HP beast that doesn't emit a thing. Even more interesting is the drive train, which SSC claims uses a power source that allows for extended time between charges. Like years between charges. I'm not exactly sure how you're going to power a 1,000-HP electric car with two motors for years between charges, but I'm certainly interested in seeing them try. This one is a few years off, but when it does hit, one thing will be for sure: you won't be able to afford it. [Autopia, Jalopnik]
