LG Electronics announced that it would launch the LG-KC910, the only 8 megapixel multimedia phone with a full touchscreen interface.

The LG-KC910 boasts top-of-the-range camera capabilities and the latest multimedia features, all combined with a 3.0 inch full touchscreen.

The LG-KC910 is the perfect successor to the multi-million selling camera phone, LG Viewty. Like its predecessor, which debuted as the slimmest 5 megapixel phone, the LG-KC910 will be the slimmest 8 megapixel handset on the market at just 13.95 mm when released.

This phone combines the latest multimedia features and an intuitive user interface evolved far beyond what Viewty offered.

With this phone LG has created a multi-sensorial experience like no other, providing enhanced viewing enjoyment, superior sound and better use of touch.

The LG-KC910 leads the industry with its 8 megapixel camera, which is being developed to include Schneider-Kreuznach certified optics, a xenon flash and ISO sensitivity up to 1600. Further strengthening the phone’s camera features are image stabilization, auto-focus, manual focus, Face Tracking, Smile Shot and blink detection. An embedded GPS receiver gives the LG-KC910 the ability to geo-tag photos for later plotting on an interactive map. A variety of creative shot modes, so far only found on standalone digital cameras, will be included.

The handset’s perfect repertoire of high-end multimedia features provides the ultimate multi- sensorial experience. The LG-KC910 is the first handset for the global market to include Dolby Mobile, an integrated suite of audio processing technologies which brings depth and richness as well as clean, powerful bass to the music listening experience.
Video features are just as advanced as audio features. The LG-KC910 can record video from 5fps up to 120fps, which allows it to record in both fast and slow motion. The phone also plays DivX and Xvid movies straight out of the box, without the need for additional encoding.

A 3.0-inch WQVGA full touch LCD screen is the ideal canvas for experiencing and interacting with the LG-KC910’s multimedia features. A customizable interface, with numerous widgets and shortcuts, makes the phone’s myriad features even easier to use.

Rounding out the phone’s comprehensive feature set, are A-GPS enabled navigation, compatibility with the latest 3G HSDPA networks for connections up to 7.2Mbps and Wi-Fi for even faster internet access. The phone also includes a Jogging Buddy program that uses GPS technology to help track workouts, a feature sure to please exercise enthusiasts.
The KC910 will be available for purchase beginning in October. LG will release additional technical specifications and information on the LG-KC910, including details on its comprehensive capabilities and pet name.

JVC expands its V.Networks line-up of advanced IP based video security products with the introduction of the new VN-X35U 1.25 megapixel IP security camera. In any conditions day or night, the JVC VN-X35U digitally zooms in on the recorded image to provide precise image detail. The VN-X35U creates a surveillance environment where the user can see an image at four times the resolution of standard IP network cameras. To put homeowners at ease, the system can be connected to motion, fire, smoke and moisture sensors, and instantly send an e-mail notification when a trouble is detected.

JVC VN-X35U utilizes a highly sensitive 1/3" progressive scan CCD with 1.25 megapixels. A full motion multi-stream codec delivers both JPEG and MPEG-4 streams simultaneously at 15 frames per second. A day / night function removes the IR filter and switches over to the black and white mode at night. The JVC VN-X35U supports industry standard Power over Ethernet (POE) for quick installation. Video, audio and power are carried on a single Ethernet cable instead of separate data and AC power cables. The VN-X35U will be available in October 2008

Remember Sanyo’s waterproof Xacti E1 camcorder that was released not too long ago? This time round, the company has released a second generation model - the Xacti E2. I would assume if you lead a relatively active lifestyle, whether during the winter or summer, the Xacti E2 would be extremely convenient since it is able to function well even when underwater up to 5 feet, with a maximum underwater shelf life of an hour before it sleeps with the fishes. Of course, the Xacti E2 also works great when you go skiing or snowboarding, in addition to other water based stops like snorkeling, surfing and water-skiing.

The Xacti E2 can function even when one of your hands are occupied, making it the perfect device when it comes to shooting casual yet important videos. You will be able to choose from brilliant blue or pearlescent white for $399.99 a pop. The E2 will capture MPEG-4 video that uses state-of-the-art AVC/H.264 recording. It supports the SDHC memory card format, where an 8GB SDHC card is able to store up to 8 hours of full motion video or 2,000 still images at 8 megapixels each. Other features include :-

Waterproof: submersible to a depth of five feet for 60 minutes

Shoots high-quality video (advanced MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 at 640 x 480 pixels)

Smooth movie recording and playback with 60 fps

Takes 8-megapixel stills (JPEG format)

Records onto an SD memory card or high-capacity SDHC card

Bright, 2.5″ LCD color display flips out and rotates for easy viewing

5x optical zoom for great close-ups

Anti-shake digital image stabilizer

Easy, one-handed operation

Photo and Video Face Chaser technology uses a proprietary Sanyo algorithm to compensate for distracting up-and-down or side-to-side camera movement, keeping your subject steady and easy to follow

Sequential Shooting allows high-speed continuous shooting at 5 frames per second (for up to 10 frames) in [2M] mode so you won’t miss that perfect shot. Continuous shooting at 1 frame per second (for up to 10 frames) is available in [8M] mode

CMOS sensor: an advanced 8.0-megapixel (total) CMOS image sensor allows the E2 to capture high-resolution, 8-megapixel still images in addition to recording high-quality digital videos

New underwater scene mode available in scene selection menu, making colors more true and clear

While recording video, 8-megapixel still images may also be taken simultaneously

Easy video sharing: Video recording employs highly efficient MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 compression. This keeps high-quality files small, so you can upload videos to websites and blogs or share them via podcasts or online social networks

“Quick stand-by” makes it possible to start recording or playback immediately after the monitor is flipped open

Bundled with ‘Adobe Premiere Elements 4.0′ for movie editing and original DVD authoring

Dimensions: 2.8″ x 4.4″ x 1.6″

Weight: 9.1 oz.

Not like the LG-KC910 needed any confirmation—it was far from being vaporware like other leakages in the electronics niche. Nevertheless, official announcements never fail to get my motor running, knowing that soon we’d see the handset for ourselves.

The successor to the well-received LG VIEWTY, LG-KC910 is an 8 megapixel camera phone with a 3-inch WQVGA full touchscreen display. The camera also uses Schneider-Kreuznach certified optics as well as xenon flash, and boasts an ISO sensitivity up to 1600. Other features include auto-focus, face and smile recognition, image stabilization, and blink detection. Video recording has an impressive 5fps up to 120fps range so users can record both in slow and fast motion. Additionally, a-GPS is included in the package for geo-tagging. It’s irking that LG forgot to mention the expected retail price, but at least we know that the LG-KC910 starts shipping on October at some part of the world that is probably not ours.

Now over at Boy Genius Report they've been given a run-down on the full specs of the phone from a source they trust. The rumored 5-megapixel camera is indeed there, with flash and VGA video capability. 850MHz/2100MHz HSDPA's there too, as is the 3-inch screen. Read on for more.

• Quad-band GSM/EDGE, dual-band HSDPA (850MHz/2100MHz)
• 950mAh battery
• 240×400 3.0-inch screen
• 5 megapixel autofocus camera with flash and VGA recording
• Bluetooth 2.1
• Wi-Fi b,g
• Infineon MP-EH + M180 chipset
• Motion sensor
• FM Radio
• 104.5 x 54 x 16.8 mm

Not bad at all: with quad-band, WCDMA, the motion sensor and FM radio it sounds like a fully-rounded handset.

Denver, CO - Officials at D-Box swear that they have nothing to with Justin Timberlake, SNL, or obscenely funny lyrics.

But they easily will vouch for the strangely weird awesomeness of their motion-based entertainment center, believe it or not. The company encodes movies with programmable motions embedded within race car simulators and furniture, which allows people to shake to the sound of their favorite movie or game.

Earlier today, D-Box released new plush motion chairs that promise more shakes than ever, while keeping them plain and stylish enough that they'll work in a sober, non-gaming environment. They also said they've improved the movements to understand even smaller detailed beats.

The D-Box experience is very much like having the old Days of Thunder ride at Great America in your living room – you feel uncomfortable at first, then you get into it and ride, and when you get up, you immediately feel dizzy and want to get on again.

The whole set-up requires a few processes. First, an engineer from D-Box inserts 124 programmable movements for every frame rate in a movie (or game), mixing and matching close to 4000 different tiny moves to the correct move needed. Then, a motion bearing (see pic above) is attached to the chassis of a body, be it a plastic car or a souped-up couch. Then, you add them together and madness ensues.

Testing at the booth consisted mainly of loud and heavy music, but we would have liked to try the chairs with a few subtle, bass-heavy tracks, or even a game with an ambitious score, like Legend of Zelda. In the meantime, I can tell my niece that this probably better than anything they have at Chuck E’ Cheese's.

Check out more pics after the jump.

Seoul, Korea, September 4, 2008 --- LG Electronics (LG), a worldwide technology and design leader in mobile communications, announced that it would launch the LG-KC910, the only 8 megapixel multimedia phone with a full touchscreen interface. The LG-KC910 boasts top-of-the-range camera capabilities and the latest multimedia features, all combined with a 3.0 inch full touchscreen.

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_h5hOmDEy1n4/SL_62hzAOcI/AAAAAAAA9Kw/h-1ieLJpyUw/s320/na_lst_20080904113027.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5242184305974720962" />

“With our new flagship handset, the LG-KC910, we’ve once again combined a high-end camera with top-notch multimedia features and full touchscreen interface to provide the ultimate multimedia experience,” said Dr. Skott Ahn, President and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. “According to our customers a full touchscreen interface is essential for fully utilizing high-end multimedia features and this is one of many areas where the LG-KC910 excels.”
