You could easily buy your own binary clock or watch, but is that really in the spirit of such a timepiece? One could easily argue that a purchased binary watch just isn’t quite geeky enough. If you want to show your real geek cred, you’ve got to bust out some tools and make your own.

Ari’s hulking watch began life as a simple binary pocket watch, but at the urgings of the BenHeck.com forum community, he turned it into a wrist watch–something he had considered from the beginning. Not many watches are attached to a huge battery pack, but that’s okay. It’s one of the modern equivalents of the pocket protector, only heavier and more awesome.

Eventually, the watch will even have a USB charging cable, to keep it juiced in the only acceptable way.

It just goes to show that my pals were paying attention! So the geek that I am, I went on the hunt for a place I could catalog my loot, and also get some recommendations for new wines to try. It didn't take long to find Cork'd.

Cork'd offers exactly what I need. It's a virtual wine cellar to keep track of wines, submit reviews of ones you love (or hate) in your wine journal, keep a shopping list of the varietals you want to buy, and even befriend a few "drinking buddies" to add to your page. It's a fun (and geeky) way to learn about and try out new wines. Cheers!

It seems like I’ve been obsessed with owning a Beetle since birth and therefore love all things Beetle themed. I’ve ran into several other like me and this USB hub is proof that there are plenty of us out there. For the Beetle obsessed, this is just one more random Beetle inspired accessory to own. Thankfully, there never seems to be a shortage of these quirky little extras. Sadly these look more like the newer Beetles than the old. Which even owning one of the newer Beetles, I still prefer the classic ones. So this USB port gets a couple less points, but it’s still cute.

It’s probably going to appeal more to women than men, since it is kind of a girly car. It comes with cute eyes painted onto its headlights that light up. It also has a spot to insert business cards or just to hold your cellphone. Which would make it plenty useful. Each of the wheels is a hub to plug your USB gadgets into. The 4-port hub comes in either white or red and can be purchased on Gadget4All for $12.50.
