Process Lasso: Pre-Configure Static Priority & Multi-Core CPU Affinity for Processes upon Startup
2008-01-25 20:23:57 by Abdul Aziz in Tech[dot]Blog

Process Lasso is free task manager replacement that can automatically adjust the allocation of CPU cycles so that system responsiveness is improved in high-load situations. It does this by temporarily lowering the priorities of processes that are consuming too many CPU cycles, thereby giving other processes an oppurtunity to run smoothly. This software is useful for both single and multi-core processors.

In addition, Process Lasso offers capabilities such as default process priorities, default process CPU affinities, termination of disallowed processes, and logging of processes executed.

With Process Lasso you create rules to manage processes running on your system. For example you can configure notepad.exe to always launch in Normal priority on CPU#1 and your web browser to launch in High priority on CPU #2.

Process Lasso: Assign Static Priority & CPU Affinity for Processes upon Startup

Here are the core features of Process Lasso:

+ Automatically manage process priorities to improve system responsiveness and prevent stand-stills.
+ Configure processes to always start at a desired priority.
+ Configure processes to always start at a desired CPU affinity (new).
+ Auto-terminate undesirable processes.
+ Log all executed processes.
+ Supports Windows 2000, XP, 2003, and Vista x32 and x64.
