Touch screen cell phones are all the rage these days, but unfortunately for many, one of the major drawback of such a display is this - there is no tactile feedback whatsoever to let you know that you have managed to make a selection on the screen itself. Of course, haptic feedback does change the game quite a bit, but not by much. After all, having my handset vibrate with each selection I make isn’t exactly an indication of me making the right choice. The Nokia concept aims to bring things to the next level with a small pump that fills a substrate right under the display, offering one’s fingers something to feel and press. Don’t think this concept will ever make it to production anytime soon though - maybe in 5 years’ time?
