"I wish I could say we thought of it ourselves, but the idea came from a customer," OssiUrlaub's managing director Enrico Hess told Reuters in a recent phone interview. "It's an unusual gap in the market." Such a comment begs two important questions: First, was said gap really so unusual? And second, just because a gap exists, does that mean it needs to be filled? The answer to both questions is a decided "yes." That after all, is what capitalism is all about. Without it, the world would be deprived of such innovations as strawberry Cheetos and boob mice. And now, thanks to OssiUrlaub, the friendly skies just got a whole lot more comfortable--just as long as they, you know, stay away from those first-class leather seats.

The German travel company will begin booking on Friday for its new nudist-friendly travel service. Happy naked German daytrippers can snap up tickets for the July 5th flight from Erfurt to the Baltic Sea resort of Usedom for 499 euros apiece.

"It's expensive, I know," said Hess. "It's because the plane's very small. There's no real reason why a flight in which one flies naked should be more expensive than any other." Although they won't be saving money on uniforms--unlike the passengers, who will be able to strip after boarding, the crew will be made to keep their clothes on, for "safety reasons."

"I don't want people to get the wrong idea," said Hess, no doubt anticipating a healthy amount of skepticism. "It's not that we're starting a swinger club in mid-air or something like that," he added. "We're a perfectly normal holiday company."

Looks like folks interested in getting their sky-high kicks will just have to do it the old-fashioned way.
